Booking During Covid-19
Now that travel has opened back up to the islands, beginning May 1st 2021, once you pay your deposit, your date is locked in and no refunds will be given. If you need to postpone your wedding, your booking will be good for up to one year after the original booking date.
As far as safety precautions, in addition to the protocols that I already had in place prior to Covid-19 which are sanitizing all tools, using fresh capes for each person or a clean towel/neck wraps and working with clean hands always, I will also be wearing a facemask and sanitizing my hands in between each client. If you have any concerns about covid-19 and getting hair services done, it's best to reach out to me prior to booking to ensure we are on the same page and everyone feels safe.
Do you travel to me?
Yes. I am available to travel the entire island of Hawaii as well as the other Hawaii Islands. Please contact me for travel pricing and details.
How long do services take?
Most hairstyles take 30 mins. – 1 hour
For bridal hairstyles please allow 1-1 1/2 hours
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, to confirm your appointment I require a $150 non-refundable deposit that will go towards your services on the day of. Your appointment is not booked until the deposit invoice is paid. Payment must be made via check, cash or Paypal. 50% of the remainder of your balance is due at the time of the trial run (or 4 weeks prior to wedding), and the remaining balance to be paid no later than 2 weeks before the day of event. The deposit is 100% non-refundable. As I block out large portions of my day for your big day, I am not able to reserve anyone else in the meantime. I understand the pandemic has created uncertainty and am more than willing to transfer deposits to any other date up to a year out from the original wedding date.
How should I prepare for my hair appointment?
Your hair should be clean and dry. This is very important as I will not have time to blow dry your hair (unless previously arranged) and products, even too much conditioner, can cause your hair to not hold a curl and/ or be flat causing an un-desirable end result. It is best to wear a shirt that buttons so that it doesn’t need to go over your head to remove it.
Do you have a minimum booking requirement?
Yes, in most cases I do require a booking minimum of 4 adults in order for me to travel to you. However, depending on location and date, I may be available for the bride only.
If I'm not on the Big Island, are you able to do a Skype or Facetime consultation?
Yes! I am able to do a consultation over Skype or FaceTime although if you are particularly nervous to do the first run on the day of your wedding, it is best to schedule a hair trial if possible. The best way to prepare for your wedding day hair is by sending ideas and photos of your hair ahead of the consultation and any concerns you would like to go over. The Skype/ Facetime call will be a good opportunity for me to see your hair, as I'll be able to see the length and density a little better than a photo. Rest assured that I have tons of experience with all textures of hair and have been a curly hair specialist for the past 5 years. If you have naturally curly hair and plan on embracing it for your wedding day, please let me know in advance as there is pre-planning involved and questions that I need to ask you prior to your wedding day.
Do you have a contract?
Yes, I do require a signed contract in addition to the non-refundable deposit. This contract also contains information for you to fill out about your bridal party members so I can best schedule everyone for their hair services to ensure a smooth day. This contract not only protects me, but you, the bride as well, in the case of an emergency that may cause any unusual cancellation by me.
What is your cancellation policy?
The deposit made to reserve your appointment is non-refundable. Once contract is signed and deposit is made, no reduction in people receiving service(s) is allowed. If reduction does occur, the balance remains due in full. Substituting people is allowed to fill number outlined in contract. Cancellation of booking or event less than 30 days from booked date results in full balance owed. If an emergency should occur and I am unable to provide the services on the day of your event, I will do everything in my power to find a replacement to take care of your beauty needs. If I am not able to get a replacement, all money paid to HWH By Jenna will be refunded, including the $150 deposit.
